With a failed drug test from the Nevada Athletic Commission, Askar Mozharov has been suspended.
After failing a drug test following his loss to Alonzo Menifield on June 4 at UFC Fight Night 207, the commission issued Mozharov’s temporary suspension at its monthly meeting on Tuesday. Mozharov tested positive for a metabolic modulator.
The decision on the disciplinary action was put off until the next meeting. According to the commission, Mozharov and/or his representatives have kept in touch with them throughout the proceedings.
When the top MMA databases Sherdog and Tapology found that Mozharov’s professional record had been fabricated, he became the center of controversy and media attention in the lead-up to UFC Fight Night 207. His record was confirmed to be 25-7 prior to the commencement of fight week. As the week came to a close, the score stood at 17-13.
Mozharov, who was 27, was knocked out by Menifield in the opening round. The promotion was taken away from him after that. Since then, no upcoming fight involving him has been made public.
