On Wednesday, the PFL announced that it has signed Muhammad Ali Jr., grandson of the legendary boxer, to an amateur contract. Ali Jr.’s promotional debut is set for November, on the undercard of the 2022 PFL Championships.
24-year-old Ali Walsh trains at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, where she has a 1-1 record as a mixed martial artist. He suffered a second-round submission loss in his MMA debut in June, but he bounced back with a technical knockout win on August 27. Nico Ali Walsh, his sibling, is an unbeaten professional boxer.
“I want to thank Professional Fighters League for their support and confidence in me. I can’t wait to enter the PFL SmartCage,” Ali Walsh said
“I have a legacy to live up to, a legacy that my grandfather began, that my brother and I continue, I chose to continue that legacy here in the Professional Fighters League. My one and only goal is to one day become a PFL world champion.”
