While it wasn’t needed, Hasim Rahman Jr. did it nonetheless to establish a point – it’s unclear exactly what he was attempting to convey.
An unauthorized weigh-in was organized by Rahman Jr. on Friday in New York City.
If his fight against Jake Paul had not been cancelled, he would have weighed in at this same time and day.
Rahman Jr. weighed in at 206.6 pounds, which would have been a weight miss for the 205-pound match, in front of his team and a few media members (via Mirror Fighting).
Paul responded to news of Rahman Jr.’s faux weigh-in failure on Twitter shortly after it broke.
Rahman Jr. tweeted soon after that Paul had agreed to a 25 percent fine for every pound he missed in his contract with him.
