Ahead of their rematch in the main event of UFC 278, Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards had their last pre-fight encounter at Friday’s ceremonial weigh-ins. The fight will take place on Saturday.
In a rematch of their fight from December 2015, which “The Nigerian Nightmare” won by unanimous decision as part of his undefeated UFC run, Usman (20-1 MMA, 15-0 UFC) will put his welterweight title on the line Saturday against Edwards (18-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC). The fight will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The stage is now set following the conclusion of the final staredown between the two fighters, and Edwards has not been defeated in any of his subsequent 10 fights since that result.
The Vivint Arena will serve as the host location for UFC 278. After the preliminary bouts have been shown on ESPN/ABC and ESPN+, the main card will be shown on pay-per-view.
