Askar Mozharov was suspended from the UFC after he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs after his one MMA contest.
After Mozharov failed a urine test following his loss to Alonzo Menifield on June 4 at UFC Fight Night 207, the Nevada Athletic Commission suspended him for six months and fined him 10 percent of his pay in addition to legal expenses at Tuesday’s monthly commission hearing.
The hormone and metabolic modulator GW1516 sulfone was found in Mozharov’s urine. Even though he failed to meet USADA guidelines, he was still able to compete.
When Mozharov faced Menifield, he was knocked out in the first round. Because of this, he was demoted from his position. Since then, he has not had another fight announced to the public, but he did say on an Instagram story that has since expired that he wants to make a comeback at middleweight.
