LAS VEGAS – Dana White’s Contender Series 49 ended without Bo Nickal earning a UFC contract, but he remains optimistic that his dream will come true.
In the main event of the UFC Apex on Tuesday, Nickal (2-0) seemed like a huge favorite against Zachary Borrego, who he dispatched in less than a minute.
In spite of meeting expectations, White opted not to sign Nickal.
It was an invitation to compete in the Contender Series again.
Even though his rapid finish seemed to be a cinch for a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Nickal wanted to show off more of his wrestling skills.
