Due to an injury, Trey Ogden (16-5 MMA, 1-1 UFC) will fill in for Nikolas Motta in the bout scheduled for April 8 in Miami against Bahamondes (13-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC).
The new matchup was disclosed to the media on Tuesday by two people with knowledge of the booking. As the promotion has not yet made an official announcement, they requested anonymity.
Dana White’s Contender Series alumnus Bahamondes has won two straight matches since losing his UFC debut to John Makdessi in April 2021. He first defeated Roosevelt Roberts with a spinning wheel kick, and then in February 2022, he submitted Rong Zhu for the first time in his professional career.
In his first two octagon outings, Ogden has a split record. Ogden bounced back this past September with a unanimous decision victory over Daniel Zellhuber after losing by a razor-thin margin to Jordan Leavitt in his UFC debut.
