T.J. Dillashaw’s bantamweight title battle with Aljamain Sterling would not take place at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi if Sean Strickland had his way.
Prior to his 2019 TKO loss against Henry Cejudo, Dillashaw was suspended for EPO (recombinant human erythropoietin) use.
Strickland does not believe that Dillashaw, a former two-time UFC bantamweight champion, should be released from his two-year sentence handed down by USADA, even though three years have elapsed since the incident.
The controversial middleweight went on a profanity-laced rant against Dillashaw before his UFC 280 bout with Sterling, calling him “the scum of the f-cking earth” because of his history of using PEDs.
“@tjdillashaw never let this man forget what he is… ever…. if this man ever wins in life remind him what he is,” Strickland said in an Instagram post.
“TJ Dillashaw keeps popping into my f***ing feed,” Strickland added. “And TJ, you are the scum of the f***ing earth. The fact that you’re even allowed to compete in MMA f***ing shocks me. Let me tell me why you’re scum. When you go and you beat a guy…. have their f***ing check is gone, their ranking’s gone. You do so much damage to somebody’s f***ing life… you are f***ing scum, you shouldn’t be allowed to compete in MMA, I f***ing hate you.”
The co-main event of UFC 280: Oliveira vs. Makhachev will be Sterling vs. Dillashaw. On Saturday, October 22nd, at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, a pay-per-view spectacular will take place.
