Former lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez is leaving ONE Championship after a brief three-year collaboration.
Confirmed ,I am no longer with ONE. We parted ways amicably and I remain on good terms with the ONE team. I want to thank Chatri for the opportunity and I look forward to watching their continued success. I’m officially a free agent and Ready to Hunt Tell me whose next ?UGK

The team’s most trusted insiders Alvarez also contacted ESPN, saying that the 38-year-old veteran “will explore all options.” And like many of his contemporaries, it could involve a stint in the ring.
In 2018, Alvarez signed with ONE Championship. In his ONE debut against Timofey Nastyukhin in March of 2019, he was knocked out in the first round. After a five-month dry spell, Alvarez finally got back on track as he submitted Eduard Folayang in the first round. It was the only promotion he would win.
A majority decision defeat to future ONE champion Ok Rae Yoon was Alvarez’s most recent fight, which took place in April 2021. Fans who anticipated a trilogy with Shinya Aoki after his signing were disappointed.
